Wigan Athletic signs 12BET sponsorship deal

Wigan Athletic have announced the most lucrative shirt sponsorship in the club’s history after agreeing a two year deal with online betting brand 12BET.

The 12BET logo will feature on all Wigan Athletic replica shirts and training apparel, excluding juniors, for the next two seasons, with the option of a third season to follow.

The agreement also includes 12BET becoming Wigan Athletic official Betting and Gaming Partner, and maintaining a high profile brand presence in and around the DW Stadium.

Neil Ryan, Wigan Athletic Head of Marketing, Commercial and Retail, said: “We are really pleased to have agreed this major new commercial partnership.

“To have secured such a substantial fee from a high profile brand like 12BET demonstrates clearly where the club is going and we are looking forward to working with them to achieve our collective objectives over the next two years’.

Wigan Athletic Chief Executive Jonathan Jackson said: “The Barclays Premier League is a global brand and Wigan Athletic are now firmly established throughout the world as a part of it.
“As part of our strategy to grow our name internationally, we wanted to find a brand that was an ideal fit for the club to establish a longer term relationship and to agree a deal that commercially benefits both parties.
“Our agreement with 12BET fits those criteria and will give excellent value and exposure, reflecting the success that we have had in recent years.

“12BET is an exciting new partner for Wigan Athletic and we are delighted to be working with them.”
Rory Anderson, CEO of 12BET Europe said: “We are delighted to join forces with Wigan Athletic – a sponsorship that will give us great exposure both in the UK and globally, providing the perfect platform to promote our core proposition; in play football betting.

“We have always been impressed with the club’s ethos associated with loyalty, commitment and team spirit, values that sit closely with our own. We look forward to working closely with the club and its supporters to make this partnership a huge success”.

Why people bet Online?

Hi Guys,

First of all, I Love Soccer and am a crazy fan of MU. At the same time, I cant resist placing some bets while watching soccer (mostly EPL and Champions League). I have done a little research myself and it seems many of my friends are the same. Is this because placing some bets while watching soccer will make it more exciting and challenging? Or is it simply because I like gambling. I'm more towards of the former reason, 'cause I don't really gamble that much, but when there's match I can't resist.

So anybody out there feel the same way?

Oh btw, I'm using 12Bet as my bookmakers, and so far I'm happy with them. Sometimes I played in their Casino, gosh their dealers are darn hot, you should definitely check out their Hotties Calendar. So, bottom line, if you are a casual gamblers like me, and happen to be 12Bet members, PM me, I'd like to know more of what you guy thinks. Cheers

12Bet Customer Service

Website

The website has an Asian view and European view, with most readers likely to select the latter and get a more traditional layout as a result. It’s not the fastest loading site out there, although the available sports and markets are nicely listed in a left-hand menu and there is a different tab available for In-Play markets which is a good idea.

In the middle of the homepage is a rotating graphic which highlights the new customer bonus that’s available (in fact there are two different ones advertised which prove a little confusing). 12Bet are also at pains to highlight the online deals they have with football clubs rather than promoting the big events of the day in this space. There is also a Racebook section which includes UK racing.

Customer Service

It’s interesting that some social network sites are included in the ‘Contact Us’ section, although 12Bet have customer service specialists available in English, Thai and Chinese languages. There is live chat and email support available but not telephone. It doesn’t appear that customer service is 24/7.

Odds and Markets

Odds and Markets

There are twelve sports listed at the time of writing, which include soccer, horse racing, basketball and tennis. Indeed, the other sports only have a token offering and it’s soccer which has far more extensive pre-match and In-Play coverage than anything else. There are about 30 different soccer leagues covered and you can expect to find around 18 match markets for the big games such as Champions League and Premier League.

What’s probably the best thing about the whole 12Bet experience is that they do bet to competitive margins, which is something you would expect from a firm whose client base are based in Asia and demand tight margins when it comes to placing their bets. It’s well worth checking out their handicap lines and you will often get better soccer odds with 12Bet compared to a UK-based firm such as Ladbrokes or Coral.

12Bet Background

They are a remote gambling brand, licensed in Europe and Asia through the affiliated companies Pacific Sea Invests S.A. and Pacific Sea Invests S.A. which are remote gambling operators based in the Isle of Man and the Philippines respectively.

12Bet  is focused primarily on offering sports betting products and services to certain European and Asia Pacific markets. Their philosophy is to grow the business through seeking to deliver to sports betting customers the best overall experience in the market.

Summary

The best things about 12Bet is the fact that they offer great odds on a range of soccer leagues and that they have a pretty solid In-Play offering which again contains prices at tight margins.

However, the live odds and time of the match seem to require a manual refresh in order to make sure that you are seeing them up to date. The two free bets are both generous enough although be aware of the turnover requirements before you land your deposit bonus.

12Bet may have a UK-facing site, although there is still a lot of work required if they are to appeal to customers based in the United Kingdom and across Europe.

12BET Replaces 888 as Sponsor of Sevilla FC

Ahead of the start of the new Spanish football season which kicks off later this month, Spanish La Liga club Sevilla FC has agreed a new two-year shirt sponsorship deal with Asian online gaming company 12Bet.com, replacing 888 who has been the club's main sponsor since 2006.

Under the agreement, which will run for at least two years and is said to be worth twice as much as the club's deal with 888, 12Bet will be the major sponsor of Sevilla FC's official team shirt for all games in the Spanish La Liga season, as well as Copa del Rey games and friendly matches.

12Bet will also have a major advertising presence in the club's football stadium, as well as control of images and branding of the club in strategic locations in Asia and other international markets.

"We are delighted to have 12Bet as our new partner," said Jose Maria del Nido, President of Sevilla FC. "We share similar ambitions for growth and extension of our respective brands in many of the key and emerging economies and we have already discussed some ideas on how best to achieve it together. We are enthusiastic about working with 12BET to accelerate the international development of our club."

12BET.com is operated by Pacific Sea Invests SA, an Asian-based remote gambling operator licensed and regulated by First Cagayan Leisure and Resort Corporation for the Cagayan Economic Zone Authority of the Philippines government.

Andrea Hector, 12BET's Managing Director, said: "Sevilla had an excellent season last year qualifying directly for the Champions League group stages. We see this as an excellent opportunity to boost the international development of both brands.

"We are investing a lot into the development of the 12BET brand and had been looking for a partner in the world of football for a long time."

Last season Sevilla FC finished third in the Spanish La Liga championship, behind champions Barcelona and Real Madrid. The club won back-to-back UEFA Cups in 2006 and 2007.

Manuel Vizcaíno, Sevilla FC's deputy manager, said that the contract was very beneficial to the club. "Sevilla will receive almost double the amount it received from the previous sponsor," he said.

Other online gaming brands to sponsor Spanish football teams include Unibet (Valencia), bwin (Real Madrid), Finland's Paf (Atlético de Madrid), Interapuestas (RCD Espanyol) and Sportingbet's Miapuesta (Unió Esportiva Miapuesta Castelldefels).

12Bet enter European Market

12Bet.com engages GB Group to enter European market

LONDON – 23 August 201012Bet.com, one of the largest sports betting sites operating in Asia, has recently launched its European operations. As part of this strategic move, 12Bet.com enlisted GB Group, a leading Identity Management business, to manage its online ID verification processes.
As part of this deal, GB Group will be rolling out its international ID verification product powered by its award winning ID3 technology, which has the capabilities of checking more than 800 million citizens in over 26 countries.
“Following our strategic entry into the European market, a key requirement for us was to be able to accurately verify identities across borders,” says Rory Anderson, CEO for Europe at 12Bet.com. “GB Group’s ID verification solution perfectly complements our existing KYC and anti-fraud policies and procedures, helping us to achieve our goal.”
Following a risk-based approach to ID verification, GB Group’s ID3 technology will enable 12Bet.com to identify customers around the globe, as well as block those from countries where they do not want to do business. Equally important was the need for the technology to meet regulatory requirements, which GB Group’s ID verification product does.
“We are extremely impressed by GB Group’s ID verification product in terms of its capabilities and scale and believe they are best placed to provide us with a solution that offers us a true reflection of who our customers are,” says Anderson. “By helping us meet our regulatory requirements, we can continue to operate responsibly and transparently – a fundamental approach in the way we do business.”

Richard Law, CEO at GB Group comments, “Fraud prevention is high on 12Bet.com’s priority list and it is important for them to instill trust amongst their customers. We believe we have the best technology in the market to do just this and we are pleased to work with them to offer their customers peace of mind that they are gambling on a protected and responsible site.”

Anderson concludes, “We look forward to developing our European business with GB Group. Entering the European market is part of our global strategy to grow and grab market share.  We are confident we are approaching it in a safe, secure and responsible way with the help of GB Group’s Identity Management expertise.”
