12BET Replaces 888 as Sponsor of Sevilla FC

Ahead of the start of the new Spanish football season which kicks off later this month, Spanish La Liga club Sevilla FC has agreed a new two-year shirt sponsorship deal with Asian online gaming company 12Bet.com, replacing 888 who has been the club's main sponsor since 2006.

Under the agreement, which will run for at least two years and is said to be worth twice as much as the club's deal with 888, 12Bet will be the major sponsor of Sevilla FC's official team shirt for all games in the Spanish La Liga season, as well as Copa del Rey games and friendly matches.

12Bet will also have a major advertising presence in the club's football stadium, as well as control of images and branding of the club in strategic locations in Asia and other international markets.

"We are delighted to have 12Bet as our new partner," said Jose Maria del Nido, President of Sevilla FC. "We share similar ambitions for growth and extension of our respective brands in many of the key and emerging economies and we have already discussed some ideas on how best to achieve it together. We are enthusiastic about working with 12BET to accelerate the international development of our club."

12BET.com is operated by Pacific Sea Invests SA, an Asian-based remote gambling operator licensed and regulated by First Cagayan Leisure and Resort Corporation for the Cagayan Economic Zone Authority of the Philippines government.

Andrea Hector, 12BET's Managing Director, said: "Sevilla had an excellent season last year qualifying directly for the Champions League group stages. We see this as an excellent opportunity to boost the international development of both brands.

"We are investing a lot into the development of the 12BET brand and had been looking for a partner in the world of football for a long time."

Last season Sevilla FC finished third in the Spanish La Liga championship, behind champions Barcelona and Real Madrid. The club won back-to-back UEFA Cups in 2006 and 2007.

Manuel Vizcaíno, Sevilla FC's deputy manager, said that the contract was very beneficial to the club. "Sevilla will receive almost double the amount it received from the previous sponsor," he said.

Other online gaming brands to sponsor Spanish football teams include Unibet (Valencia), bwin (Real Madrid), Finland's Paf (Atlético de Madrid), Interapuestas (RCD Espanyol) and Sportingbet's Miapuesta (Unió Esportiva Miapuesta Castelldefels).
